HP 953 Printer Ink Cartridges July 2024 Firmware Update

It was found by monitoring, on July 25th 2024 that HP pushed new firmware version 2423A to HP 953 series printers by WIFI. After a printer has been upgraded to this latest firmware, the compatible chip cannot be recognised.
Any HP 953 series printer that is upgraded to the latest firmware using compatible ink cartridges with chip code is A71(or earlier) will find the cartridges cannot be identified by the printer. Chip versions with the code A72 or later are not affected by the upgrade and can be used normally.
All Internet Ink customers will have turned off these automatic updates as part of the cartridges use instructions and so will not be affected.
We have already written new ink cartridge firmware that overcomes this new HP update that will be installed on all HP 953 cartridges as of today.
